Cost Recovery Initiative

Cost recovery is a federal government policy which requires government departments to consider charging fees for services. Fees for certain drug and medical device regulatory activities were implemented between 1995 and 2000, and reviewed between 2000 and 2002.

The Cost Recovery Initiative 2 (CRI-2) project is using the results of the fee review to implement changes to the drug and medical device fee regulations.

Documents relating to the review of these fees and the implementation of changes, including consultation activities and the development of costing, fee and revenue allocation (i.e. financial) models, will be posted to the website.
