Health Supply and Demand Analysis Division

Health Supply and Demand Analysis Division applies advanced techniques to the economic analysis of health policy issues, focusing both on the responses of individuals and families as users or 'demanders' of the health system and the responses of the public and private organizations (e.g. governments, firms, the voluntary sector, and Canadians themselves) who act as the 'suppliers' of health, either as health care providers to the ill, or through activities which prevent illness, injury and disease.

Key Activities:

Its current work plan includes research projects in the following areas:

  • Sustainability of the Canadian Health Care System;
  • The Impact of Changing Treatment Regimes on Health Costs;
  • First Nations and Inuit Health;
  • Pharmaceuticals;
  • Information Technologies in Health Care; and
  • Infectious Diseases.
