About Health Canada

Research Management and Dissemination Division

The overall goal of the Research Management and Dissemination Division (RMDD) is to improve the availability and quality of evidence for policy-making, and to promote its use in decision-making within Health Canada. This is achieved by identifying Health Canada's future policy research needs, supporting extramural peer-reviewed research that addresses these needs under the Health Policy Research Program, and by communicating relevant research results within Health Canada and externally. RMDD acts as a knowledge broker, encouraging information exchange and cooperation among health policy researchers and health policy makers. The Division publishes the Health Policy Research Bulletin three times a year.

Key Activities:

RMDD has three interconnected functions to support evidence-based decision-making:

  1. Policy research coordination
  2. Management and delivery of the Health Policy Research Program; and
  3. Policy research communication
