This image of this brain identifies four areas critical for the diagnosis of Bovine Spongiform Encephalopathy, 1 and 2 are the most important. The image of the brain is sideways with four lines across it from top to bottom of image, the first is the Obex, the second is the Caudal cerebellar pedunde, the third is the Midbrain and the fourth is the Midbrain, red nucleus inclusive. The brain bisection is for Bovine Spongiform Encephalopathy suspects and Bovine Spongiform Encephalopathy surveillance cases that are concurrent rabies suspects.
