Notes: Compliance action is taken as a regulatory control measure to prevent the marketing or removal of a product from the market that is known to be contaminated or adulterated. The compliance phase requires at least five loads to be tested at a recognized laboratory prior to marketing the product in Canada. If laboratory results do not accompany the product, or if the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) decides not to accept the results, the detained product will be sampled to ensure compliance prior to release from detention. All of these actions will be done at the consignee's expense. The product will remain on compliance until five consecutive samples have indicated that residue levels are in accordance with the MRL. In the compliance phase, if a product sample is above the established MRL, the product can not be sold or used as human food in Canada or in the case of imported products, may be returned to the country of origin. A product in the compliance phase is placed on a compliance list. This list is updated on a monthly basis, or more frequently when products are added or removed. This list supersedes all previous ones. Although every reasonable effort is made to provide accurate information on the Compliance list, there is no guarantee, warranty, assurance, undertaking or anything similar that the information provided is correct, accurate or current and the CFIA shall not be liable for any mistakes or inaccuracies in the Compliance list or for any loss resulting from or in connection with the use of or reliance on the information.
