Aboriginal Cadet Development
Program
- Aimed at Aboriginal people interested in a career with the RCMP who otherwise would be suitable candidates, but do not meet the basic entrance requirements.
- After a three-week assessment at Depot Division in Regina, Saskatchewan, cadets return to a detachment in their home area with a program designed to help them attain the basic entrance requirements.
- Cadets have up to two years to attain the basic entrance requirements. Once successful, they go to Regina to undergo basic cadet training.
- Since 1990, more than 300 Aboriginal applicants have taken advantage of
the program and over 200 have graduated from the academy.
