As you may be aware, the Commission is now well into its "National Dialogue" phase in which it engages Canadians across the country in helping to frame issues and provide solutions to the challenges confronting the health care system.
The Commission on the Future of Health Care in Canada, in partnership with select Canadian universities, hosted 12 televised policy dialogues on key health care issues.
More than 100 participants from across Canada attended a full day forum in late June on Aboriginal health issues, co-hosted by the Commission and the National Aboriginal Health Organization (NAHO).
A key component of the Commission's consultation strategy will be 21 days of open public hearings in major urban centers across Canada (with special arrangements to facilitate participation by rural residents).
The Canadian Association of Former Parliamentarians sponsored an essay competition for undergraduate students at Canadian colleges and universities, on the topic How to Improve Canada's Health Care System.
