IM Professional Development and Certification Program - Development Phase
The Organizational Readiness Office (ORO) in partnership with the Canada School of Public Service, and the Information Management (IM) Community, has developed a series of IM courses to support the effective implementation of the Management of Government Information Policy and to increase the readiness of the IM Community in dealing with its new challenges.
Phase I of the project consisted of a series of consultations with the IM community to assess learning needs and to develop a competency profile. The resulting Learning Framework became the blueprint for the IM curriculum of learning.
Phase II of the project, the course design phase, is nearing completion. Seven courses will have been piloted and they will be ready to be delivered by April 2006. Further details, conditions and parameters for the certification component of the Program are currently under development.
The Canada School of Public Service will deliver the following courses during 2006/2007. The courses will be posted on the Canada School of Public Service web site. Please get ready to register as soon as the courses are available. Take note that the IM Environment and Vision and the IM Legal and Policy Framework courses will be delivered free of charge by the Canada School of Public Service.
