ALLERGY ALERTUNDECLARED SULPHITES IN GOLDEN GRAIN SUPER FOOD DRIED LILY FLOWERSOTTAWA, July 30, 2004 -. The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) is warning people with sensitivities to sulphites not to consume the Golden Grain Super Food Dried Lily Flowers described below. The affected product may contain sulphites which are not declared on the label. This alert is of concern to those individuals who have sensitivities to sulphites or who are asthmatic. The affected product, Golden Grain Super Food Dried Lily Flowers, a product of China, is sold in a 200 g package bearing UPC 6 927585 260039. The importer is voluntarily recalling the affected product from the marketplace. The affected product has been distributed in British Columbia, Alberta, and Ontario. Consumption of this product may cause a serious or life-threatening reaction in persons with sensitivities to sulphites. Sulphites may trigger an asthmatic reaction in people who have asthma. There have been no reported illnesses associated with the consumption of this product. The CFIA is monitoring the effectiveness of the recall.
