About Us

Travel Medicine Program

The Public Health Agency of Canada's Travel Medicine Program helps protect the health of Canadians by monitoring, verifying and disseminating travel health information, and producing and disseminating travel health recommendations for Canadian travellers and the health professionals who care for them.

TMP is also the Secretariat for the Committee to Advise on Tropical Medicine and Travel (CATMAT). Made up of volunteer experts in tropical medicine, epidemiology and infectious disease, CATMAT provides the Public Health Agency of Canada and health care professionals at large with evidence based recommendations on travel-related health risks and the means to mitigate them.

To enhance your safety, TMP works in partnership with:

  • National, regional, and international public health authorities.
  • Other Canadian agencies and programs
  • Travel Industry
