International Corruption Canada has signed but not yet ratified the United Nations Convention Against Corruption which requires that parties to the convention ensure the existence of law enforcement authorities who specialize in combating corruption. The Commercial Crime Program is pursuing the creation of four strategically located International Anti-Corruption Teams. The relevant Canadian legislation is the Corruption of Foreign Public Officials Act, which outlines offences related to bribing a foreign public official.
