RCMP Human Trafficking National Coordination Centre (HTNCC)

<< Passport and Immigration >>

The RCMP has established a Human Trafficking National Coordination Center (HTNCC) within the Immigration and Passport Branch at Headquarters in Ottawa. The Center will work in partnership with domestic and international agencies to develop an extensive network of partnerships, monitor investigations from a national perspective, facilitate the central processing of requests from international law enforcement agencies, provide analytical services and intelligence feedback to domestic law enforcement, and contribute to international data banks.

The key objectives of the HTNCC are:

  • Leadership through the development and implementation of a national enforcement strategy against human trafficking;
  • Protection of Victims through the development of protocols and witness protection procedures in collaboration with the Source Witness Protection Program;
  • Training through the development and administration of train the trainer programs;
  • Providing Analytical Services through intelligence gathering, analysis and liaison;
  • International Coordination through the facilitation of central processing of all investigational requests from international law enforcement agencies; and
  • Development of Partnerships through supporting the development and nurturing by Regional representatives of local partnerships and networks among regional NGOs and government agencies, and ongoing national and international partnerships with law enforcement agencies and federal departments.
