Joint Employment Equity Committee

Current Committee Activities

The Joint Employment Equity Committee provides a national forum where the Treasury Board Secretariat, the Public Service Commission and the Bargaining Agents can consult and collaborate on the preparation, implementation and revision of the public service wide employment equity policies. The Committee also provides interpretations, on request, on departmental-agency consultation and collaboration issues that fall under the Employment Equity Act.

Concluded and upcoming items:

• The Committee held information sharing meetings.
• The Committee reviewed, prioritized and provided critical input through the application of an employment equity lens to the review several policies, directives and guidelines (i.e. Term Employee Policy, Return to work, Leave without Pay Policy, Telework Policy).
