Results of Retail Price and Living Cost Differential (LCD) Survey for NWT, Northern BC and Nunavut

SUBJECT: Results of Retail Price and Living Cost Differential (LCD) Survey for NWT, Northern BC and Nunavut

 

Departments are reminded to distribute this notice to employees at your headquarters and regional offices who are involved in the administration of the isolated posts allowances.

The results of the Statistics Canada survey of the Living Costs Differential (LCD) Indexes for the Northwest Territories, Nunavut and Northern British Columbia Region, conducted in February and March 2005, were recently communicated to the National Joint Council Isolated Posts and Government Housing Committee (NJC-IPGHD). A total of thirty-two (32) isolated posts were involved in this review and the results of the LCD changes are as follows:

The changes were effective February 1, 2006.

Please note that the revised LCD classifications will be updated in Appendix A at a later date.
