Updates for 2003/2004

The IT Executive Development Program and the IT Management Development Program have been merged to provide better focus and more effective development. This will allow the facilitation of filling developmental assignments. Both groups will share a Career Advisor that will operate from the Program Office. The specialized learning events will now combine participants from both Programs to enhance networking and provide many perspectives around issues discussed.

An educational component has been added to the IT EDP this year in the form of a buffet style of courses that will be available and will be selected in consultation with the Career Advisor. An example of some of the learning opportunities available are: CSPS, PWGSC's Knowledge Centre Institute, E-Learning Curriculum for IT, Leadership Network, Masters of Public Administration (MPA), Masters of Business Administration, Executive Masters of Electronic Commerce (EMEC), IT Management Specific Courses for IT, EX Course, IT Conferences, etc. Other forms of learning may include coaching, mentors, action learning sessions, etc.

Department/agency sponsoring participants will be expected to cover the educational portion of the Program and assessment costs. There is also a program services fee which must be paid annually per participant that will cover the career development and professional counselling for participants, program specific learning events, assignment identification and management and program support for both sponsoring and hosting departments and agencies.
