Roles and
Responsibilities
Applicant/Nominee/Participant
EDP Partners
Applicant/Nominee applying to the IT EDP must:
- Complete the electronic self-assessment against the 14 La Relève
Leadership Competencies and forward a hard copy with the application package.
- Respond to their individual department/agency's Learning Opportunity
Notice.
- Include an updated curriculum vitae/resumé clearly demonstrating how they
meet the experience, education and area of selection factors as stipulated on
the poster.
- Provide a letter of sponsorship from the DG or ADM of the Branch indicating
support over the period of the Program and clearly outlining an understanding
of the financial obligations of the home department/agency.
- Provide confirmation of security clearance at the enhanced reliability
level or higher.
- Provide confirmation of valid Second Language Evaluation (SLE) results at
the BBB level.
- Send the completed application to their Human Resources Office prior to the
closing date as stipulated on the Learning Opportunity Notice.
Once selected, participant must:
- Be willing to participate in education and training and accept
progressively challenging assignments both within and outside the
department/agency and/or their functional areas.
- Take an active role in developing and attaining the objectives outlined in
their personalized learning plans.
- Contribute to the overall objectives of the host department/agency while on
assignment and the sponsoring department/agency as applicable.
- Seek feedback on their performance and their development.
- Provide the Program Office and the department/agency, with updated
curriculum vitae, copies of performance reviews and feedback on assignments on
a regular basis.
Treasury Board Secretariat, Organizational Readiness Office (EDP Program
Office)
- Ensures the Program is consistent with the principles and guidelines of the
Program Office under the guidance of the IT Champions Committee and the CIO
Council.
- Develops and implements marketing strategies to promote the Program.
- Facilitates the selection and assignment process.
- Liaises with the IT Champions Committee and the CIO Council, participants,
mentors, CSPSand the PSC.
- Secures appropriate financial and human resources for the administration of
the Program.
- Provides program management and administration support.
- Provides Career Advisor services to participants and the Program Office.
- Establishes performance measurements and monitors and adjusts as
appropriate.
- Coordinates assignment agreements.
- Coordinates Learning Events and Action Learning Events.
- Provides learning support to participants through the office staff as well
as Career Advisor.
PSC/Career Assignment Program/Assessment Testing
- Assists in promoting the Program.
- Provides supporting information/materials.
- Provides screening, assessment and selection instruments/tools.
- Schedules and conducts candidate assessments.
- Provides on-going guidance and support to the Project Championsand Program
Office.
The CIO Council and the IT Champions Committee
- Promotes IT MDP and provides a stewardship role.
- Ensures appropriate participation on both screening and selection boards or
committees.
- Solicits developmental assignments for participants.
- Provides an overseeing role to assist participants in the development of
their learning plans.
- Provides mentoring for Program participants.
Department/Agency
- Run the selection process
- Provide the participant's salary although this may be negotiated between
the home and host department/agency
- Pay the $26,500 per participant to cover the educational portion of the
Program (buffet style of learning). Travel costs associated with this training
would be included.
- Pay the Program Services Fee of $7,500 per participant per year that
covers career development, and professional counselling for participants,
program specific learning events, assignment identification and management and
program support for both sponsoring and hosting department/agency and
agencies.
- Provide specialized/tailored training based on an individual's learning
plan although this may be negotiated between the home and host
department/agency.
- Provide relocation funds, travel funds, etc., as may be necessary given
assignments.
- Pay for any Executive Coaching recommended by the Career Advisor.
Note: Salary costs for assignments are negotiated between
department/agency.
