Non Graduate Internship

TITLE OF INTERNSHIP:
Photography / Imaging Intern

Knowledge and Skills the Intern May Acquire:
  • Ability to organize work
  • Communication skills
  • Basic knowledge of photography
  • Ability to operate photographic equipment
  • Knowledge of graphic and imaging software
  • The intern will be trained in Photoshop, Access.
Description of the Internship:

The intern will rotate through and work in an image library, with both the senior photographer and staff involved in collecting and cataloging images. The intern will assist the photographer in the taking of images, by helping to set up photographic equipment, adjusting lighting, etc. The intern will also assist in the electronic cataloguing of images: scanning, describing, and filing images. The intern will have an opportunity to manipulate and create images using graphic software.

Minimum Candidate Qualifications:
  • Basic computer literacy
  • General knowledge of photography


TITLE OF INTERNSHIP:
Communications Centre Intern

Knowledge and Skills the Intern May Acquire:
  • The ability to work in a team environment
  • The ability to work in a fast paced environment
  • Skills for coping with difficult people
  • Communications skills
  • Internet Skill
  • The intern will attend training in Microsoft Word
Description of the Internship:

The intern will work in a busy communications centre, rotating through a number of functions over the period of the internship and working with a variety of staff. Specific assignments will include: answering and directing incoming inquires, assisting in compiling statistical reports on the functions of the call centre, monitoring a web site for such things as pages accessed, broken links, accuracy of content etc., assisting in the distribution centre with the distribution of printed material.

Minimum Candidate Qualifications:
  • Bilingualism required
  • Pleasant manner
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Basic computer literacy


TITLE OF INTERNSHIP:
Warehouse Assistant Intern

Knowledge and Skills the Intern May Acquire:
  • The ability to work in a team environment
  • Knowledge of Warehouse operations and procedures
  • Knowledge of computerized inventory procedures
  • The intern will be trained in forklift operation

Description of the Internship:

The intern will work in a large and busy warehouse. Activities will include: assisting in stock taking, shipping, and receiving. The intern will work with experienced warehouse staff to learn the general functions of a warehouse.

Minimum Candidate Qualifications:
  • Basic Keyboarding skills
