Leilah

Hi ya; thanks for coming to check out my youth.gc.ca bio! I'm 21, and an Ottawa native. I'm currently finishing a 4-year program in Communication and Français langue seconde at Ottawa U. My obsessions include hockey, music, photography, and the passions of the people around me.

As a Youth e-Cluster Representative, youth.gc.ca has kept me pretty busy over the last year. Aside from my regular Youth Team roles, I've acted as an ambassador for the Youth Team and youth.gc.ca, with organizations such as the Schoolnet Youth Advisory Board, and in projects such as Future Trek. I've also helped to provide feedback on other Government of Canada youth initiatives, and presented youth.gc.ca and the Virtual Team (Virtual Youth Canada) to various audiences.

With my partner Philippe, our most important job was to facilitate discussion amongst our Team 3 mates from Virtual Youth Canada, summarize their feedback, and present results back to the Youth Team and the youth.gc.ca organizers. With the help of our trusty Virtual Moderator, we tried to keep our teammates excited about youth.gc.ca, and their roles in it...we hope we did a good job, because we sure had fun with it!

We've become friends with teammates from Surrey to Calgary to Antigonish, had chats in our Virtual Community, pitted our boy band against other teams' in Survivor Challenges, and played "Name that Tune," Canadian-style! It's amazing how we've learned about each of our experiences from across the country, and to have that affect on how this site has developed.

It's been a wonderful experience, and we hope you get as much out of this site as we've gained from putting into it!

Cheers! Leilah :P
