Hi, and welcome to youth.gc.ca, a Government of Canada Website. For more than a year, I have had the opportunity to work with a great team on building this site, which is now operating. The site - designed completely by young Canadians from across Canada - reflects what people like us want to know about the services, resources and programs offered by the Government of Canada.
As for me, I studied political science and communications at the University of Ottawa. My interests go hand-in-hand with my studies because I am really into politics. I also like to travel. During my last big trip, I went to France, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands and Italy. I have also lived in Belgium, where I did some of my studies.
Helping to design this site was an outstanding experience. Part of my job was to coordinate the ideas and work of several young people from one end of the country to the other and to pass along their brilliant ideas to the government. That was an important job since the content of the site depended on their ideas. The government's approach - to give young people decision-making power - is what I really liked about this project.
I really believe that youth.gc.ca represents an important stage in providing Government of Canada services. For the first time, young people from across the country will have access to a variety of government information all on one site. They are just one address and a couple of clicks away from everything they want.
