Get Work Experience

Work experience that comes from volunteer activities can give you a great "foot in the door" to future job opportunities.

Where to look for volunteer work:

Volunteer Centre
Your local Centre will have a list of opportunities.

Volunteer Opportunities Exchange
Find opportunities or add your name to the Help in Emergency Situations database.

Yellow Pages. Use your phone book to search out the names of organizations that often need volunteers such as:

  • Community centres
  • Social agencies
  • Non-profit organizations
  • Childcare centres
  • Sports organizations

Internships: Travel, live, and work in different parts of Canada or overseas.
