Matrix Environmental Solutions Ltd. Fined $8,000 for Violating the Feeds Act

On October 24, 2006, Matrix Environmental Solutions Ltd. entered guilty pleas in provincial court in Taber, Alta. to two counts of violating the Feeds Act.

Matrix Environmental Solutions Ltd. was fined $4,000 for each violation of Section 3(1)(a) of the Feeds Act, which states: "No person shall manufacture, sell or import into Canada any feed unless the feed has been registered as prescribed."

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency is responsible for enforcing a variety of federal legislation including the Feeds Act and its regulations. It protects consumers by contributing to food safety, the protection of plants and the health of animals in Canada.
