Plant Molecular Farming

Plant molecular farming (PMF) is the use of plants in agriculture for the production of novel compounds rather than for the production of food or livestock feed. Potential novel compounds include pharmaceuticals, diagnostic products, vaccines, biologics, industrial chemicals, biodegradable plastics, etc. To date, no PNT intended for PMF has been granted authorization for its commercial cultivation in the Canadian environment.
