About Us |
The Division of Aging and Seniors, Public Health Agency of Canada, provides federal leadership on health issues related to aging and seniors. The Division serves as a focal point for information and centre of expertise in this area.
The Division:
- provides advice and supports policy development;
- conducts and supports research and education activities;
- encourages seniors' health promotion, harmful risk reduction and the prevention of injuries;
- works with partners, including the provinces, territories, seniors' organizations and other sectors, on policies, programs, research and issues relating to healthy aging;
- disseminates information related to health and aging; and
- provides operational support to the National Advisory Council on Aging .
In executing all of its roles and responsibilities, the Division promotes the meaningful participation of seniors in federal decisions and activities that affect them.
