The Worlds Most Scrumptious Omelette

March 2005
by Warren

Ingredients:

  • 3 large eggs (any reasonable number will work)
  • Any vegetable you want (celery, carrots, mushrooms, broccoli...)
  • Cheese (shredded or sliced thin)
  • Cooking Oil
  • Salt
  • Pepper

Tools:

  • Non-stick fry pan with lid
  • Spatula
  • Whisk or Fork
  • 2 plates (one for eating one, one to help flip)
  • Bowl (regular size)

Directions:

  • Heat up fry pan on stove
  • Add a little oil and the vegetables
  • Cover and let warm and cook
  • While the veggies are cooking....
    • Break the eggs into a small bowl add salt and pepper to taste
    • Add a small amount of water and whisk eggs together
  • Take vegetable out of pan and let the pan become fairly hot
  • When hot add the eggs in the middle of the pan
  • You will notice that the edges cook fast, take the spatula and more the edges towards the centre to let the loose egg from the centre come to the outside to cook.
  • When there is little loose egg left in the middle add some veggies cover and let cook
  • When 1st side is cooked slide the whole omelette onto a plate... next comes the tricky part.
  • With the omelette on the plate cover the omelette on the plate with the fry pan and flip omelette back into the pan
  • Now add most of the cheese to ½ the omelette and the rest of the veggies to the same half.
  • Cover and let cook.
  • When 2nd side is cooked slip the spatula under the side that isn't covered in cheese and veggies and fold it over on the full side.
  • Turn off burner and move the pan to a clear one burner
  • Add the rest of the cheese to the top, cover and let it melt.
  • After its melted slide it onto the clean plate... and enjoy!

To make a full meal add an apple, toast, and a glass of milk and eat up!
