Spring is here

May 2005
by Samuel V.

Spring is always a fun time. The snow is melting, and the trees are starting to see some green. My favourite activities on spring days are: Cycling, Hiking, Jogging and taking care of my horses.

However, spring also brings a lot of cleaning!

I love the spring because it's a time to get physical again! Spring is a good time to take up Cycling, Hiking, Jogging and other outdoor activities. However, with spring comes cleaning. Around my house there are always things to do. Cleaning the lawn, (Raking, mowing ect.) Filling pot holes in our driveway, cleaning the eaves' troughs out, planting/weeding our garden and numerous other outdoor things. However it all pays off when the work is done and we can go biking or hiking. Spring also brings colour to the trees and the ground. Spring signifies that winter is over and summer is on the way! This means that animals start to appear and bugs start to bug again. For people who live on farms this is a time when calves (Baby cows) and fouls (Baby horses) are born. It's always nice to see a foul running around the field and learning how to be a horse. Spring is probably the best season since it is when everything looks alive for the first time in the year. I love when I first get onto my bike or the first hike I take in the spring. In the spring you never run out of things to do! There are a few down falls of spring. People start taking less care on the roads, the mud can cause vehicles to sink, and racoons and skunks are out of hibernation. Spring can be fun even with these down falls tho'. Remember, Be safe and have fun!
