Ghatto Ghatto

March 2005
by Clare

(This is an old canoe trip favorite - its easy, tasty and definitely different)

Ingredients:

SAUCE

  • Peanut butter
  • Soy sauce
  • Hot sauce (optional)
  • Oil - olive is the best option
  • Mix together in a pan on low heat just until you have a nice consistency a little thicker than syrup - but the sauce is great because you can just keep
  • adding soy sauce or PB to get your desired consistency)

VEGGIES

  • Carrots
  • Celery
  • Onions
  • Broccoli
  • Bean Sprouts

Directions:

  • Chop and sauté these for a couple of mins to get them a little soft - but not too soft to loose those delicious minerals and vitamins - you can be creative here and add or take away whatever veggies you prefer.

  • I like to use tofu in this dish as well to get some more protein - you can use chicken if you want, but its better with nothing if you don't like tofu.

  • Just chop the tofu into cubes and throw it in with the veggies

PASTA

Cook spaghetti or your favorite pasta until properly cooked - 10 min and then mix the sauce and the veggies in with it!

Simple, easy and delicious!
