  1. Who can use GST/HST TELEFILE?

In order to be eligible to use GST/HST TELEFILE, you must meet all of the following criteria:

    • A four-digit access code must be printed beside the due date on part 1 of your return.
    • You must be filing a return that has a nil balance or a refund of $10,000 or less.
    • Your return must not include an amount on line 111.
    • You must not need to file a rebate application form with your return.
    • The business number, name, address, and reporting period printed on your return must be correct.
  2. Can businesses with First Nations Tax (FNT) accounts use the service?

Yes. However, after filing your return, you still have to mail Form GST 499 (the corresponding FNT schedule) to the Surrey Tax Centre.

  3. Can my accountant use GST/HST TELEFILE to file my return?

If your accountant is legally authorized to sign the paper copy of your GST/HST return on your behalf, he or she may use GST/HST TELEFILE to file your return.

Note that your access code is your personal security key to filing your return using GST/HST TELEFILE. Please do not give your access code to anyone not authorized to act on your behalf.
