Environment Canada is a proud partner of the youth.gc.ca website. Intent on communicating environmental knowledge, Environment Canada envisions a Canada where people make responsible decisions about the environment, and where the environment is thereby sustained for the benefit of present and future generations. The youth.gc.ca is a remarkable opportunity to help connect youth from across the country with the environmental information and opportunities they seek. Through knowledge and action, each of us can contribute to the respect, protection and conservation of the precious environment we live in. So here's to you - happy navigating!

Fisheries and Oceans Canada helps ensure that our waters and aquatic ecosystems are safe, healthy and productive - now and in the future. The Department is helping to create a Web portal that gives Canadian youth information to help understand and become involved in Canada's marine environments and make informed decisions about environmental protection, conservation and sustainable use of our marine resources, and about water safety issues. Information about jobs in the Department and the Canadian Coast Guard, and about youth internships in marine sciences is also provided.

You are adventurous, and you love to travel - some 200 countries to discover and understand! It's an interconnected world, and the international issues affecting other countries, do have an impact on Canadian youth.

The Department of Foreign Affairs & International Trade is part of the Youth Portal for 3 reasons: to connect with you better so you are aware of certain initiatives; to help you travel and work safely outside of Canada; and, to show why "International" counts.

Big business might make the world go around, but it's the small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) that turn a good idea into an innovative product. The people running these enterprises look to the National Research Council of Canada (NRC) and the Industrial Research Assistance Program (IRAP) for help in achieving this success. Now youth.gc.ca offers you a front row seat for what goes on in these dynamic, ambitious companies. Through HRSD's Youth Employment Strategy (YES) initiative, you can take part in IRAP's Youth Internship Programs for SME's and NRC's Youth Internship Programs. We're excited to be part of youth.gc.ca and invite young Canadians to join this exciting process. With a history that goes back to 1916, NRC has been responsible for a number of famous discoveries and inventions - some of them will probably surprise you!

Natural Resources Canada (NRCan) is a federal government department that focuses on promoting the development of natural resources, energy, minerals and metals, forests and earth sciences to meet the needs of our current generation, without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own development needs. How we manage our land and resources today will determine the quality of life for Canadians both now and in the future. Achieving successful sustainable development is a long term responsibility. We are happy to be a partner in youth.gc.ca because it presents an excellent opportunity to interact with Canada's Youth to develop a partnership that encourages dialogue around a common goal, natural resources development for present and future generations, and ensures we are working toward that goal in a mutually supportive way.
