National Calibration Reference Centre for Bioassay and In Vivo Monitoring
The National Calibration Reference Centre for Bioassay and In Vivo Monitoring (NCRC) was established in 1982 within the Radiation Protection Bureau (RPB), Health Canada, to assist in improving workplace safety by providing high quality intercomparison programs for the measurement of internal radiation exposures of workers.
The NCRC provides a national calibration reference service to universities, hospitals, public utilities and private firms. This calibration is a critical step in ensuring that measurements of internal radiation doses to workers are accurate.
The NCRC is also registed to ISO 9001:2000 and has adopted a set of performance standards containing technical specifications and criteria which are used as guidelines to ensure that the materials, processes and products we use are appropriate for the services we provide. This ensures that the intercomparison programmes are of the highest quality.
