Consumer and Clinical Radiation Protection Bureau Consultation with Stakeholders on Draft Safety Code for Large Radiological Facilities
The current Safety Code 20A, "X-ray Equipment in Medical Diagnosis" has become out of date and does not reflect current technology and practice. A new Safety Code has been written for large radiological facilities which sets out requirements for personnel, facilities and quality assurance programs. A second Safety Code for small radiological facilities will be available for consultation in early 2007. Together, the two new Safety Codes will replace Safety Code 20A.

Proposed Process for Amending the Cosmetic Ingredient Hotlist
The current process for Hotlist updates does not offer stakeholders an opportunity to provide comments or share data prior to the list being finalized and published. Therefore, the Cosmetics Division is proposing a new process for amending the Hotlist. The proposed process offers greater transparency to all stakeholders and affords manufacturers the opportunity to provide data to Health Canada to support the safety of an ingredient.
