Undeclared Peanut Flour in President's Choice "Too Good to Be True!" Instant Split Pea Soup

OTTAWA - The Health Protection Branch (HPB) of Health Canada is warning consumers allergic to PEANUTS not to consume President's Choice "Too Good To Be True!" Instant Split Pea Soup (58g packages).

This soup, which is distributed across Canada, contains peanut flour which is not indicated on the label.

The affected product is considered a health risk ONLY for those individuals who have an allergy to peanuts. There has been one illness reported in the U.S. related to the consumption of a similar product from the same manufacturer.

Sunfresh Limited, distributor of this product in Canada, has initiated a voluntary recall of all remaining stocks from retail stores. HPB is monitoring the effectiveness of the recall.

Consumers who wish to do so may return the product to the place of purchase.
