Undeclared peanut flour in Fantastic Foods Split Pea Soup

OTTAWA - The Health Protection Branch (HPB) of Health Canada is warning consumers allergic to PEANUTS not to consume Fantastic Foods Split Pea Soup (56g packages), bearing codes _6008 and _5333 (The first digit may vary from 1 to 9).

This soup, which is distributed across Canada, contains peanut flour which is not indicated on the label.

The affected product is considered a health risk ONLY for those individuals who have an allergy to peanuts. There has been no illness report related to the consumption of this product.

I-D Foods Corporation, distributor of this product in Canada, has initiated a voluntary recall of all remaining stocks from retail stores. HPB is monitoring the effectiveness of the recall.

Consumers who wish to do so may return the product to the place of purchase.
