Welcome to the IHRDP website

The Indigenous Health Research Development Program is an Aboriginal Capacity and Developmental Research Environment (ACADRE) Centre. We aim to increase capacity in Aboriginal health research in Ontario. We are part of a national network of ACADRE centres who share a similar vision and goals.


IHRDP FAQ

What does the IHRDP do?

We provide:

  • scholarships and/or research allowances for Ontario graduate students and we provide
  • funding for small community-based health research projects
  • funding for the development of proposals for larger health research grants
  • support in proposal/research development
  • annual summer institutes addressing issues related to research with Aboriginal communities are provided for students supported in our program
  • and more!

This documentary highlights the Elders’ understanding of historical trauma and directions to ‘begin to heal our nations’. All speak to healing collectively using Indigenous knowledge and traditional practices. Youth voices chronicle their perspectives and responses to health and social concerns. This documentary works towards raising consciousness of Indigenous peoples’ struggle to preserve their knowledge and culture.
