Faster Internet Access

Septermber 24, 2002
by Scott

In this modern day in age, we have invented computers with modems capable of dialing into a network that reaches every country in the world. Allowing users to gain as much information on whatever they want. Well what if this was possible faster, much faster with out the need of high speed Internet and it was setup in every Canadians home. Could we connect to the Internet through the power lines? You better believe it!

This new Internet through the power line technology is here. A Toronto company called Congency has released this technology to the public. Simply plug in a small module into the power outlet, then to your computer and quickly and easily your online via your home or office power line. Imagine within a couple of seconds you can watch a clear crisp action movie transmitted through an electric socket.

Unfortunately, this new technology is not selling well with consumers as people want wireless Ethernet connections, Did you know the power line can move up to fourteen mega-bits per second. This new technology is also more secure, making it hard for hackers to find their way in.

This new technology has proven more affordable and easier to use than most wireless Ethernet networks. This technology is also more flexible because the average home has 44 electrical sockets, compared to the less than ten telephone jacks. This is a great technology in a great day in age!
