You can improve your competitiveness in international markets by
tapping into the wealth of exporting experience and advice out there.
Whether you are entering the export market or looking to increase your
market share, below you’ll likely find a training program or
consulting service to help you.
Program Name: Business Integrity: Managing the Global Reality |
Sponsor: Export Development Canada, Alcan, Nexen |
What It Is: Business integrity is vital to sustainable profitability. Corporations need to learn from each other through sharing their best practices.
Whatever their size, Canadian corporations working internationally can no longer think exclusively about profits and shareholder value. Changing customs require them to pay increasing heed to a wide range of stakeholders and issues not previously on (or at least high on) their agenda. In addition to complying with legislation and keeping their customers, suppliers and employees happy, they have to manage their operations in an environment where neighbours, local communities, environmentalists and anti-globalisation activists are watching every move.
It is critical to their success that they be aware of the issues and manage the risks in an efficient and cost effective manner. This applies whether they face challenging bribery or corruption issues and related Canadian legislation, environmental issues with a potential for disaster, or simply trying to be a good corporate citizen in an increasingly sceptical world.
|
What You Get: Learn About how international guidelines provide principles and standards for international conduct; Code of Conduct - "Walk the Talk"; Managing human rights and labour issues in challenging conditions; How EDC is strengthening its due diligence related to environmental assessment; How to comply with legislative and stakeholder expectations; Navigating issues of bribery and corruption; Minimizing your risk of exposure while abroad
| |
Cost: $250 + 17.50 GST #124992116 (The registration fee includes continental breakfast, lunch, breaks, and the workshop.) |
