Activities

The Biologics and Genetic Therapies Directorate (BGTD) is involved in a variety of activities, including the development of new policies or regulations, and the updating of existing policies, for example, related to biologics, radiopharmaceuticals, genetic therapies, and the transplantation of tissues, cells, and organs. It is responsible for a regulatory framework which ensures that safe, effective, and high quality products or drugs, and the appropriate information about their risks and benefits, are available to Canadians on a timely basis. These activities performed are done so in collaboration with clients, stakeholders and the general public.
