Planning Resource Kit

Greetings

We are pleased to provide you with a Planning Resource Kit for the First Nations and Inuit Home and Community Care Program.

The purpose of the Planning Resource Kit is to build capacity within First Nations and Inuit communities to effectively plan, design and deliver home and community care services that respond to the unique needs of the community in a relevant and meaningful way.

The Planning Resource Kit is made up of a series of handbooks and planning tools containing lists of key steps and activities-along with some helpful suggestions-to assist with each phase in the planning and development process. Other resource material will be distributed over the coming year on evaluation, standards, scope of practice, liability, information management and accountability.

A key focus of the planning and development phase of the First Nations and Inuit Home and Community Care Program is that it be community-based and community-paced. This is critical if we want to ensure successful programs.

The National Steering Committee will continue to provide national direction on the development and implementation of the program over the next two years, and to ensure that the necessary structures, processes and tools continue to be made available.

We hope that you find the Planning Resource Kit to be of benefit. We wish you all the best for a successful program.
