The NIHB Program provides supplementary health benefits,
including dental treatment, for registered Indian,
recognized Inuit and Innu throughout Canada.


IMPORTANT NOTICE TO DENTAL PROVIDERS

As of October 1, 2001, Non Insured Health Benefits (NIHB) will no longer be responsible for dental benefits for the following bands:

Long Plain (Band 287)

Anishinaabe Mino-Ayaawin Inc. (AMA)
Band 268 -Kinonjeoshtegon
Band 269 -Peguis
Band 271 -Lake Manitoba
Band 272 -Fairford
Band 274 -Little Saskatchewan
Band 275 -Lake St. Martin
Band 316 -Dauphin River

Claims with a date of service after October 1, 2001, regardless, if the dental service has been predetermined by NIHB Regional offices, must be sent to the appropriate AMA/ Long Plain Dental Manager for payment.

For the next two months, First Canadian Health will continue to forward claims submitted to FCH in error, to the appropriate AMA/ Long Plain Dental Program Manager. As of December 3, 2001, claims will be returned to your office.
