Stray Dogs

Who can I call about stray dogs in my area?

The P.E.I. Humane Society enforces animal control bylaws in the municipalities listed below.

Many municipalities do not have animal control bylaws. The P.E.I. Humane Society will send a model animal control bylaw to your community council and will speak to your council about the benefits of animal control.

The P.E.I. Dog Act is provincial legislation which applies to dog owners who live in unincorporated, rural communities in Prince Edward Island. To find out if you live in a rural area covered by the P.E.I. Dog Act, call the P.E.I. Humane Society.
