Departmental Planning

Planning is critical in a large organization such as Environment Canada. Planning ensures that the Department has determined the environmental results it hopes to achieve, has set priorities, and allocated resources to deliver those priorities. Environment Canada's planning community is broadly distributed in regions and headquarters to represent the matrix management structures of the Department.

Planning serves internal purposes but Environment Canada also reports to Parliament and Canadians on its plans and priorities. Environment Canada's Report on Plans and Priorities are key annual documents tabled in Parliament at the beginning of each fiscal year.
