Public Consultations

This web site has been a very important forum during our preparations for the Parliamentary Review of CEPA. It has provided a vehicle for Canadians to make their views known on how CEPA 1999 should be renewed. They responded to specific questions found in the CEPA 1999 Scoping Paper and on other matters they wished to raise with respect to CEPA 1999 and the Review process. EC and HC also engaged Canadians through six public workshops held across Canada in late January and early February, 2005. Over 470 people attended the workshops, and 32 detailed submissions were received through this website.

A summary report on the public workshops held by Environment Canada and Health Canada in preparation for the Parliamentary Review of the Canadian Environmental Protection Act, 1999 has been prepared and is now available.
