NSN Technical Guidance Document : Chemicals and Polymers

New Substances Notification Technical Guidance Document: Reaction Scheme

Environment Canada and Health Canada have developed a guidance document on reaction schemes under the New Substances Notification Technical Guidance Series. This series is being developed to help interpret specific information requirements of the New Substances Notification Regulations (Chemicals and Polymers) [NSNR (Chemicals and Polymers)] of the Canadian Environmental Protection Act, 1999.

This guidance document further explains the reaction scheme requirements prescribed in Schedule 9 of the NSNR (Chemicals and Polymers) for polymers that meet the Reduced Regulatory Requirement criteria. It also provides background information and suggested formats for reporting polymer reaction schemes.

The Reaction Scheme guidance document will be available shortly on this web site. Meanwhile, to obtain an electronic version of this document, please contact the New Substances Notification Information Line.
