Healthy Weights

Background

Health Canada develops and promotes guidelines for healthy eating, physical activity, and healthy weights. The guidelines include Canada's Food Guide to Healthy Eating and Next link will open in new window Canada's Physical Activity Guide to Healthy Active Living. As a specific initiative to promote healthy weights, Health Canada developed the Vitality Program in the early 1990's, which integrates three central messages: healthy eating, active living, and positive self- and body image.
