1. What is youth.gc.ca?

Youth.gc.ca is the single access point for youth related information on the Internet. You'll find everything from government programs and services, to information on education, employment, travel, community events and much more.

Since this site is designed for Canadian youth ages 15-30, we want to know what you think of it. Share your opinion with us by joining the Canadian Youth Connection (CYC). This team of young people from across Canada provides feedback that enables youth.gc.ca to better reflect the needs of Canadian youth.


2. How do I get a job in the government?

The Public Service Commission of Canada has many prospects for young Canadians who would like to work in the Federal Government. You will find programs such as Federal Student Work Exchange Program (FSWEP), Post Secondary Recruitment, Co-op Internships and more.


3. Resume writing? Cover letters? Interviews? I need advice!

If you're considering becoming an entrepreneur or would like to expand your small business, check out the many resources available to you at Canada Business. This site provides you with the necessary tools to finance, plan and run your own business.


5. What student loan programs are available to me?

Visit the CanLearn site to find everything you need to know to secure a student loan.


6. What employment programs are available for Aboriginal youth?

Find information on employment programs offered by a number of government agencies on the Aboriginal Canada Portal.


7. How can I quit smoking?

Health Canada's Web site - Smoking Cessation: Living Smoke Free was developed to help YOU kick the habit. Check out the many invaluable tips, tricks and advice designed to give you the strength to quit and remain smoke free.


8. I lost my wallet! How do I replace all my ID?

Need to replace lost or stolen government ID? The Government of Canada has brought together on one page all the information you'll need to find out how to apply for new ID. You will also find tips on what to do if your wallet is stolen, and information on identity theft.


9. Help! How do I fill out my income tax form?

Learn how to successfully complete and submit your income tax form at Canada Revenue Agency.

11. What can I do to help stop racism?

In order to heighten awareness of the harmful effects of racism, the federal government initiated The March 21 campaign. This campaign is dedicated to fostering respect, equality and diversity among the people of Canada. For more than ten years, the March 21 Campaign has mobilized youth across the country to rise up and to take a stand against racism.


12. How can I contribute to a cleaner environment?

The Youth Round Table on the Environment (YRTE) is a group of committed youth who work with Environment Canada. The YRTE exists to provide an avenue for youth to meaningfully participate in Canadian environmental policy and program development through consultations with Environment Canada.
