Health Policy Branch
The Health Policy Branch (HPB) plays a lead role in health policy, communications and consultations.
Major responsibilities of the Branch include:
- Policy, planning and priorities
- Administration of the Canada Health Act
- Intergovernmental and international affairs
- Women's health
- Implementation of Health Canada's Gender-based Analysis Policy
- Nursing policy
- Assessments of the impact of Health Canada policies, programs and legislation on provinces and territories
- Analysis of provincial and territorial developments and trends, and their impact on Health Canada
