Pollution Prevention Planning Tutorial

If you don't know much about pollution prevention (P2) planning, you're in the right place. Here, you'll find a step-by-step guide that will show you quickly and easily the basics of developing a P2 plan. Each of the following sections walks you through one of the 6 keys steps to follow in the creation of a P2 plan. From the basics you'll learn here you'll be able to start thinking about how you could do a P2 plan for your own business.

Each step is simply explained and illustrated by a fictional case study that will help you understand how a P2 plan can be applied in a real life situation.

Case Study

The case study focuses on the Icleans, a family of 4 who live in the town of Sudsville. They decided that they wanted to run their household more effectively and try to minimize the impact of their activities on the environment. To do this the family decided to prepare a pollution prevention plan for one aspect of their household.

The Icleans have limited experience in P2 planning but they worked their way through the plan by following the 6 key steps. They are hoping that the success of their plan will lead to more P2 activities in their own home and influence others in the community to try the same thing.
