The Framework for Environmental Learning and Sustainability in Canada is a document inspired by the knowledge, experiences, and hopes of many Canadian educators and learners. It is the result of ideas expressed during a broad Consultation led by Environment Canada between 1999 and 2002. During this Consultation, more than 5 500 people from across Canada outlined their concerns about the need for environmental learning, and provided suggestions as to how Canada should respond to the recommendations contained in Chapter 36 of Agenda 21. The Framework is now supported by a broad range of stakeholders, who are committed to the vision presented in the document. Each partner produced an Action Plan, who all together shows the diversity of EL and sustainablility and the implication of Canadians. The Action Plan section will give you more information. You can read the Framework in HTML and PDF format. |
