Science and Technology: The Foundation for Policy, Regulation and Service

Science and technology is the foundation of Environment Canada. Seventy per cent of the Department's budget is devoted to science and technology (S&T) activities, and about two-thirds of its employees are in S&T positions. All this activity has made Environment Canada the largest producer of published articles in the environmental sciences in the country.
