The distribution of NSTP supported students by university and scientific field, found in Table 5 and Figure 5, is analogous to the previous point in that students in the life sciences predominated at 120, followed by the human sciences at 96, and at 57 in the physical sciences.

With respect to the distribution of NSTP funds by university and geographic focus, Table 6 and Figure 6 reveals that 29.6 percent of all projects were undertaken in Nunavut, N.W.T. at 19.1, Yukon at 16.2 percent, then in Northern Quebec at 13.4 percent, followed by northern provincial regions (except Québec) at 11.1, and finally in other circumpolar countries and Labrador at 6.4 and 4.2 percent respectively.

Finally, Table 7 and Figure 7, showing the distribution of NSTP supported students by university and academic level, reveal that the majority of students were in a Master's program (38.8 percent), followed by an undergraduate’s program (35.2 percent) and doctoral program (26 percent).
