About EBIC 1998

Seperator line

EBIC On-line is an economic surveillance tool and the Economic Burden of Illness in Canada’s complementary interactive web-based application. It was developed by the Strategic Policy Directorate to enhance dissemination of and facilitate access to cost-of-illness data in Canada.

The application contains information on cost-of-illness data for 1998 by diagnostic category, cost component, province, age, and sex. As new data become available, they will be added to the application. Data can be extracted and downloaded, or it can be displayed in graphical format first and then downloaded.

Three Economic Burden of Illness in Canada (EBIC) reports are also available on this site – EBIC 1987, EBIC 1993, and the most recent report, EBIC 1998.

Note that the data should be interpreted in the context of the methods, assumptions and limitations used in the calculations.
